クラッシックで独特な雰囲気、製造過程の問題で二度と造られる事の無いベリリウムカッパーモデル。
近年市場では使い込まれ番手揃わぬ残念な品多数、使用目的入手も絶滅しそうな状況を鑑みラウンド連れ出さずコレクションとして大切に保管してます。
硬化してたグリップを新品交換時シャフト内部も併せてメンテナンス(画像⑨)
ヘッドは全ての番手に目立つダメージ無く年式を考えれば高レベルかと思います、キャビティ内部残しの様に磨き上げ輝きと燻む飴色コントラストを際立つ様に面白く仕上げました。

マッスル時代にキャビティを世界で一番早く取り入れ革新的なデザインはセンセーションを巻き起こし、細かな改良施し進化を続ける開発力には他社も舌を巻きプロアマ問わず世界中のゴルファーを魅了、現在もキャビティの基本的設計思想は大きく変わっていません。
人気絶頂期に訪れた『ラフから止まり過ぎ違反では』某ツアープロの明らかな僻みクレームで裁判まで発展した忌まわしき【ラディウスドU字溝】問題。
濡れ衣着せられ製造中止余儀なくされたカーステン氏は
1989年USGAに1億ドルの損害賠償と独禁法違反
1990年PGAツアーに独禁法
自らの強い信念で永久使用権を勝ち取ったのです。

『開発に時間使えずPINGの進化を遅らせた上ユーザーを大きく落胆させてしまった』と勝訴の喜びより先にEYE2使用者との信頼関係を重視。
後の1990年にソールのデザインと溝を大幅に改良した新モデル【EYE2+】を発表。

こうして永く愛され続けた不朽の名作【EYE2】は歴史の幕を下ろすのでした。

(+を加えただけの新モデル名がややこしさ増殖させ違反クラブの誤認識が独り歩き。発表したタイミングと名称を一新しなかった事が今になって悔やまれます…)
